I owned one that was installed on my 335i and sold it recently. It's a cool add-on for housing additional things like a tire sealant kit, oil, etc.

Also, the seller is right to want the price he's asking, I sold mine within an hour or two at not too much less of a cost. They're super rare and highly sought after, as they're no longer produced by BMW and weren't installed on many cars in the first place.

However, it severely limits the height limit of items that can be loaded into the trunk. I needed that height for a stroller to fold into the trunk, so thus had to get rid of it. Something to keep in mind.
