only 10% of the calls? wtf? I don't think I've ever used the "keypad" feature.
Anyway, I'm about 95% sure that the car just sends numbers to the phone, not separate "press" and "release" events, which makes this a phone problem... and one I've seen before, though not with Bluetooth specifically. What phone do you have? |

I know the feature you're talking about; I just never use it. What I'm telling you is that the carkit sends number to the phone, which generates the tones if required.
You still didn't mention what kind of phone you have, but on GSM networks, uplink/outbound DTMF tones ("touch tones") are generated by the network in response to out-of-band events sent by the phone -- only the local audio you hear on the speaker is generated by the phone. The carkit isn't making any tones at all. I've made this exact same symptom happen by sending in-call keys to a phone over USB; I'm sure the carkit uses the same mechanism, just sending the commands over Bluetooth. If you have a GSM phone, try making sure "DTMF" is set to "Short", which changes how the phone communicates keypresses to the network. If your phone's a Motorola, the setting is under "Initial Setup". |

On that I have no idea; I'd guess it just doesn't send tones when you press keys during a call, but why would anyone want that? It's definitely worth a try, even if just to see what happens

I've never experienced this...it's possible that it's due to your phone...try using a friend's phone on your bluetooth and see if it does teh same thing.
