Does anyones radio stop working?

Ive noticed many times my radio or should i say my audio in any mode, cd,usb, sat,or tuner stops playing music. As in it goes mute and comes back 15 minutes later.

Anyone have a similar situation what gives?

I've never had that, but my CD player stopped ejecting and they gave me a new radio. Might be worth bringing it in, but then again they'll reprogram your car.

A couple of times the radio has refused to turn on and my bluetooth goes away sometimes as well.

The thing is unless it becomes a big PITA I'm not taking it in. I'm pre 29.2 and I want to keep it that way.

The same thing happened to me. At first it was occasional, but grew into a bigger problem happenning almost every day. Here is how we got it fixed:

1. Dealer reboot.
2. Dealler didn't believe me.
3. Dealer blamed problem on cell phones (perhaps not on BMW's approved list for Bluetooth capable phones, but they were on the list!)
4. Dealer reboot...again
5. Finially started replacing items, starting with a power module, antenna, and finially the whole damn radio, the latter is what cured the problem.

Now I don't have Nav or the USB, but I do have the HD radio. It sounds like the same thing that happened to me.

I have had the radio poop out a few times..I just hold the power knob down untill it comes back on...

Bluetooth on the other hand is 'getting confused' all the time, it gets stuck in a do-loop somehow when people call in if I am trying to send a txt or make a phone call and will ring constantly untill I shut the car off...sometimes I even have to pull the battery to get it to stop.

I think the new V31 progman is rumored to mess up radios; weren't you recently reprogrammed with this?

Just tonight after starting car and having left stereo set to radio during last drive, stereo goes to CD. Try to use idrive to go back to radio and it does not allow FM or AM but CD and ipod are available. Pressed the preset buttons and radio plays but idrive still showing CD or ipod. Go to dinner, return and everything is back to normal.

This happend to me, it went out and came back a couple minutes later then went out again. Later that day it started working without a problem. It was fine for a month then it went out again, and would come back occasionally for a couple minutes. Finally it completely died. I had to have the whole unit replaced and it's been fine since. Do the speakers make a weird popping noise when it goes out?
