2007 E90 Index 12 Fuel Injector Failure?

2007 E90 Manual, MHD only. 127k on the clock. Having an issue where if I shut the car off, let it sit for 30min-2-3hours then go get in it to drive it, get a misfire with acceleration that lasts about 5-6 minutes then goes away. No codes. No limp mode. Sounds like a leaky injector, which I though was supposed to be fixed with index 12. I got them through FCP Euro, so should have lifetime warranty, but they don't have them and with the prices what they are, doubt they would warranty replace them anyway.

Throughout it's life I have done all the usual suspects.....OFHG, VCG, Plugs, Coils, Injectors, VANOS, Alternator. Index 12's are about 4 years old. Plugs, coils are within the last year. I am due for some turbo's which I plan on tackling this fall.

Question is.....what should I do from here. I am contemplating selling the car I love because of the cost involved with new injectors and turbo's ($6-7k). If the fuel injectors don't need to be replaced, I would do the turbos just to keep this car going. I have an F10 M5 as a backup that has 57k on it and both are paid for. What are your guys thoughts? I will run a log on MHD and post it for further diagnostic purposes.

Thanks everyone.

Why wouldn't FCP Euro not cover you for your injectors? I have never had issues with FCP, I have replaced and sent back parts and they have always refunded me even parts that were 5 years old I still got refunded they have the best lifetime warranty period. I would go that route first the bad thing is you will have to front the cost of the injector and once they receive it you'll get the money back. It could also be your HPFP going out.

diagnose it 1st, not hard to pull plugs after the car sits to check if they are wet

They will but you will pay the difference out of pocket. Example: if you bought injectors for $1000 in 2018 and now are $3000, you need to purchase new, and when you send old back they will only refund you $1000. So $2000 out of pocket.

Has this something that you have gone through with FCP? Because if that was the case I would have noticed the difference in all the parts that I returned, from my understanding of their policy it's pretty straightforward, You buy the new part, then request a return, ship old the part back at your cost, then refund you for the "new part".

I just bought a waterpump about 3-4 months ago installed it and returned the old waterpump that I originally bought from FCP and they refunded me the new part amount not the old pump price that orginally paid for so that's why I'm sort of confused, unless there are being shady with injector prices when it comes to there lifetime policy.

I sent them a customer e-mail to clarify.

Yes, I have, but not for injectors specifically. Most resent was o2 sensors. My refund was equal to amount I have paid years ago, not the current higher amount. I have purchased injectors from them for $150 each. Now they are how much? About $600 each. Would not make any business sense but let’s see what they will tell you.

I would contact them because all my refunds have been based on the price of the newly purchased replacement item including tax. Already on my 4th set of index 12 injectors originally purchased on June 2018 for 1506.99. Got refunded 1388.52 on Dec. 2019 and just recently 2015.94 on Dec 2021.

Got an email reply from FCP Euro. They stated they will refund the full, new purchase price of the index 12 injectors after I return the old ones. Wow! What a company! Looks like I'm keeping the 335 for life! Going to get some logs to make sure the fuel injectors are the culprit.

interesting! What happens if the price goes down do they credit you the difference?

Thank you, they haven't responded to the same question I sent a few days ago lol.

UPDATE:

FCP got back to me apparently I also gave them to the wrong part number for the index 12 but it's good to know they will also refund N63 and S63 injectors as well!

Just a quick update. Did a good walnut blasting of intake valves (they were horrible). Took the car out for a run.......ran like a scalded cat......no codes, no limp mode at WOT, no stuttering with acceleration. MHD logs look great. Wondering if I should even replace Fuel injectors, coils and plugs?

+1 for they return the new purchase cost not original. I have warrantied god knows how many parts through them now and it is ALWAYS the cost of the most recent purchase that they refund.

No surprises, Feuer seems to be the only one claiming otherwise, it's as though he has dodgy written across his face lol

Feuer seems to be the only one claiming otherwise, I've never read anything bad about FCP.
I mean, I highly respect feuer and what he has to say here. Just an odd experience is all.

Feuer, I would certainly contact them about this.

I don't respect Feuer since he's an ass all the time, but I've never read anything bad about FCP, their warranty is highly rated. As far as I know, we don't have nothing like it in the UK.

I think he's just a bit… tired? Been on here forever and has touched more of these cars than most of us here combined.

I just write about how my recent experience was with returning o2 sensors. Perhaps it was error on my end. You supposed to select the order you want to get refund on. Maybe I selected the old order. Not really sure what happened but was about $50 difference for both. Also happened on a part that wasn’t longer available. Don’t remember what it was. Let’s say coolant pump from manufacturer that no longer supply the part. I paid significantly more for the oem version and got refund on old purchase. Thank you for not immediately being disrespectful toward me. Unlike some other members on here. I wrote my experience and is taken as bashing FCP and open the gate of personal insults. Now they will go write on here or another thread how I cried to Dave92N54

What I wrote wasn’t anything bad about FCP. I have long and great relationship with them. At any given point I have enough boxes from the orders that if you ever decide to move out from your parents house they will be sufficient.

You seem to be the only one claiming they will refund you what you payed previously and not the current value of the items bought. Either your confused or speaking through your backside as usual.
