ANGEL EYES???

Hey guys, new to the Forum and the BMW world. recently bought a 07 335xi sedan in rough shape but looking to bring it back to life. It has the xenon adaptive headlights and I noticed it doesn't have the halo rings. I like the angel eye look and was wondering how to go about getting them.. is there a specific bulb i need or maybe different headlights??? and what are my options? any help would be appreciated... thanks

You should post a picture of the headlights currently on your car with the parking lights switched on. Any e90 with factory-equipped xenon headlights came with halo rings. The ebay link you posted shows headlights with halo rings inside. Are you saying you have those same headlights, but in the rings inside yours are missing?

If you have a 335i with Xenon it should have angel eyes. They might not be on as it's an option in the menu for day time running lights.

Send us a picture of your headlights in detail.

Lights you linked have halos. If yours aren't turning on, they likely burnt out or were coded off

As mentioned earlier the bulbs have probably stopped working, that is the firs thing to check. You can replace them stock the stock bulbs or you can look into upgrading them to a much brighter white bulb. Most likely just the bulb needs replacing to get them working again.

If you want to go with a white angel eye replacement we recommend looking at the vendor section of this forum for different replacement options.

Buy Lux v7 - they are the brightest aftermarket bulb available.

You are gonna need to figure out why the originals don't work. They are probably burnt out; the FRM has a short circuit counter. Once it maxes out, it shuts the circuit off. You can't turn the light back on until you reset the short circuit counter.

This can be done with the Bimmergeeks App or Tools 32.

In order to get the angle eyes to become your DRL's, you will need an FRM 2 module; if your car is a pre-03/07 car it probably has an FRM 1.

You can get an FRM 2 module on eBay for $75 to $125.00

Bimmergeeks App or WinKFP & NCS Expert will be needed to code the FRM 2 module.

Thanks a million.. you guys basically answered all of my questions (Crazy how much information you can get from a forum) just found out there's a way to turn them on.. I'll try that first.. and if they're already set to on I'll try replacing the bulb.. then replacing the FRM module (I'm pretty sure I have a bad one anyways) ...is it possible to upgrade to the FRM 3 module?? And if so are there any benefits to it?

If you have an FRM 1, upgrade to an FRM 2. It can be tricky to go from a 1 to a 3.

There is not much of a real difference a 2 & a 3
