Combox: 24 - audio right channel -> Aux port: 4

Do you think the same would apply for the 4-pin?

For the phone cradle, where I have to connect TCU pin 3 to ground, could I tap into cable 36 which connects to combox's ground point at pin 14? Or does it have to be a chassis/body ground?
Copy of the pinouts for the aux connection to combox attached. Pin 3 for Aux R, Pin 4 for Aux L and Pin 2 for ground. Pin 1 is empty. Don't think the aux cables are shielded so you can just extend them with normal cable.

Would've thought you'd be ok doing that for the ground (or using any other existing ground connection) - they all go to ground eventually.

Thanks mate, ordering the parts now!

Thank you all that have contributed.

Will post the results when all of the parts arrive and are fitted!

All fitted and working - thanks guys! USB works as it should, as does Aux, phone cradle still charges and all Bluetooth functions work as they should

One question and it appears to be a common one, why does the 'SOS call failure' warning appear? Is it there a wire missing from the loom (I tapped K-CAN high and low for telematics). All I can find online is the coding the error out solution but no explanation of what actually causes the error.

I think I've solved the problem by replacing the non-genuine crimp sockets with genuine ones from BMW.

One last question, has anyone managed to get BMW Apps working on a relatively modern iPhone? All posts online I've found suggest that anything past the iPhone 4S won't work and I can't source ConnectedDrive Classic on the AppStore

i do not think that this limit is bound to 4s, i think bmw simply updated app in app store to the version which do not support e-series due the reason that these services cannot be ordered on e-series more than 3 year after manufacturing last e-series (m3 e92)
