When might the AccessPORT be available for the N54s with the MSD85 DME (Z4 sDrive35is, 335is and the forthcoming 1 Series M Coupe)?

As I understand it, the tune in these three models -- each of which has a 7-second overboost feature -- are very similar except that the 1M will have an M Drive button sharpening throttle response.

I brought mine in yesterday with no issues. I returned it to "Map 0" before dropping it off so they could replace a trim piece and do an oil change but I didn't expect them to do any more than reset the OCI counter.

Cool things with this is ability to log..although didn't see what could be logged anywhere..maybe missed that link?

No 07 support? That isn't good. Pretty much every flash out there does support 07.

I think they will find that most people with 2007's are very eager to mod as most are coming out of warranty if they aren't CPO.

Should be a big market there.

No 07 support? That isn't good. Pretty much every flash out there does support 07.

Go back and look for my posts to see details on this. '07 cars require a different firmware revision which is currently in the works.

Thanks! gstno1 and 4DR Assassin showed up last night and saw the dyno as well as a little map-switching demonstration. They're going to do this again next month.

But East coast guys tend to get the shaft when it comes to local tuning houses. I can only think of CP-E off the top of my head.

Yeah, I went for a while last night (actually I didn't know they had a meetup there but my timing matched up, lol).

Rob showed me the AccessPort in action, flashing maps (surprisingly quick), etc in detail with his own 335i, and I was really impressed. Got to experience the stage1 riding shotgun, and even with 4 people on the 335i it was doing some pretty kick ass pulls.

What impressed me the most was the ease of use of the device. I was a bit skeptical when they said it only required ODBII... but it's the real deal, don't even have to open the hood. The device is super small, but packs a huge list of functions.

I was able to talk to a 335is last night to grab a ROM. (Thanks J!). Over the next few I will be ripping into the ROM to look at the tuning. However, we need to find a alpha tester with either 'is' car here in Austin to allow us to complete tuning on the car for the stage maps.

Perhaps I'm partially new to the game, but...
1. Why do the 135i and 335i have different stock HP #s, 240 vs 276HP, in the COBB dynos? That's a SIGNIFICANT difference in my mind. (Maybe it's just my mind)
2. Why are your run 2 & 3 (91 & 93) octane numbers at the EXACT same time? (12:18 and 7:44)
3. Why does the 335i only have a 63HP improvement, unlike the 135i which has 74HP?

Looking forward to picking up my COBB unit!

I thought the same thing. Also, whats the oct for stock and what is the boost targets of stock?

Dynos for the 1 and 3 were done at different locations guys. I believe the 3 dyno was done at combs main facility which is higher up in elevation compared to the 1 that was done in Texas. The baseline don't matter...the delta does. Being that its within 10 whp..it doesn't really make a difference. Stock cars on here vary by 20-30 whp depending on location. Also the reason why the 1 held more power to redline is probably due to the same reason....elevation. more air equal better flow especially up top where the stock turbo alwAys.struggle.

The 335i was on our Mustang dyno in Austin, TX and the 135i was on our Mustang dyno in Portland, OR. We believe the difference is caused by the parasitic loss calibration files being used on each dyno, but ultimately, there are a lot of variables in comparing the two cars across the two dynos. The Mustang dyno is much more of a tuning tool than a peak power measurement device, and focusing on the gains rather than the peak numbers will make much more sense when comparing between dynos.

We use a tool called Dyno Database Online, which lets us present dyno pulls publicly in a nice interactive format. I've pulled up a comparison between the two cars. It's a little busy with all of the graphs, but it shows the differences between the cars and dynos you are referring to. You can click on the graph to be linked to DDBO. If you focus on gains, the results are similar.



As we build out the database with customer cars and their baseline pulls, staged pulls and custom tune pulls it will provide a lot more data for folks to compare performance numbers with. We invite you to play with Dyno Database Online with the other platforms we support so you can see the depth of dyno data we will be building up as the AccessPORT matures for BMW vehicles.

You can navigate using the Car Chooser and select Make, Model, Year, Owner and even Shop. Any dropdown you leave alone will provide results for the entire range under that dropdown.
