Those E90's in SA also have the grey eyelids or are they for export only?

Yes E90 dude. The car has been out for quite some time now and folks here get it from all over the country. Real Estate is so expensive that many people who rent drive nice BMWs...

What? no popcorn smileys while i watch this thread, ok a drink will do

I like to see how this claim to fame E90Meet plays out, so far :

DC Metro has 16

GB has 15

HK & SoCal had so many meets but none hit 15, ex. the Apple Pie meet maybe had 10 didnt touch 15,
but great sound and movie clips production!

... pls pass the popcorn, seems like a E90 storm is brewing.

The gauntlet has been thrown UK - only just got out of bed and it looks like another meet will have to be planned. A country the size of one state of the US against Good ole Sam. " We will fight them....." yada yada.

We should have asked the other E90 we saw to join us!!

We should have asked him - that would have been funny!! He could have done the voiceover for the video " Here comes another 15ft of car etc etc"

I'm gonna say we had 16 cars there - even if that other E90 in the car park didn't know about it! So technically, technically, it's a draw

What about the Fiesta and that Focus? They were so keen to join the meet they practically became E90's.....

That Focus wanted a piece of the action! Judging by the way he slowly drove past all the cars (blocking our camera shots) he really wanted his photo taken!

If we are going to get 'picky' about this, then we did actually have a 16th - a black e90 318d was there also- it was just parked in the wrong place ok!

It was so cool driving to the pub in a 15 strong convoy of 3 Series - and when that old Merc 190 tried to race us all along the straight he got pasted! haha

We may well have been one car down on the record, but I think we win on effort hands down. I dont imagine that the average distance driven by those at the DC meet would be anywhere near 100+ miles. We had UK drivers from as far as Bristol (130 miles), Brigthon (180 miles) and Stockton-on-Tees (140 miles). I think every member but one had to drive at least 100 miles each way, so well done everyone for making the effort.

After you left Jay, we tapped in the postcode of the restaurant into our SatNavs.
We all ended up in the wrong village with the same road name!
The unexpectedly longer country drive made it even better- ever seen half a dozen e90s parking at a petrol service station to ask for directions??!!!

At worst, we have drawn as the biggest meet so far- the 16th BMW was at the front of the car park Craig!

Just for the record, I've come up with some First UK meet facts:

  • the only meet to have more people turn up than was actually expected!
  • the only meet to have an unknown visitor, bringing his wife's BMW Individual 330d Sport, but who could have brought his Ferrari instead! (Hope you are reading this Chris?!)
  • the only meet where the SatNav cocked up completely, taking everyone to a road in the wrong village with no Indian restaurant!
  • the only meet where getting lost was more fun than knowing where we were!
  • the only meet to have UK & US spec e90s side-by-side!!!
  • the only meet to have both UK & US members attending
  • the only meet where a lack of food meant an early Indian meal in the late afternoon!
  • the only meet where the weather started crap & got better & better
  • the only meet to have made more people turn their heads than any other ever before- last recorded count was the population of Melbourne, Derbyshire!!!
  • the only meet to have completely filled the forecourt of a petrol (gasoline) station, for no reason other than to ask for directions!!
  • the only meet to have had their convoys gazed upon by several Honda R-Types!
  • the only meet to have had a Mercedes driver try to unsuccessfully overtake a moving convoy!!!

A possible message from the Prime Minister: Mr Tony Blair, 10 Downing Street, London, England

This is just a quick note to all members of the E90POST.com forum representing the UK in our First Meet, held yesterday, Saturday April 22nd.
Well done boys & girls!
You have made us very proud indeed.

The discussion concerning the 'biggest' meet so far is clear in my eyes. We don't need to reply to criticism from other parts of the world.
Our representatives have carried out their duty & have done so in a particularly fine spirit.

I shall be speaking to my American colleagues concerning the behaviour of their affiliates. The matter should hopefully be resolved soon.

Until then, I'd like this opportunity to let paddymac know he has my full support in saying anything he likes, in relation to the First UK meet & anything else remotely related to the BMW e90.

When you're in the thick of it, just remember- think of England!
