The reason I'm assuming it's an everyday price is because that is what's posted on REALOEM.COM. What parts do performance suspensions come with? This old kit only comes with what's pictured below so I don't think it's a complete suspension kit since you either need to buy additional parts or will be using your existing parts depending on your car's existing suspension package. You should call around and see if others will offer it cheaper if you want a hot deal otherwise there is nothing wrong to support a forum vendor. Here is the part number. 33500429574

The link I posted for you is for the NEW suspension kit. The $133 kit is the old one.

I bought a kit too, and threw in a carbon fiber strutbrace for good measure! Should be here tomorrow.

Question, if you have new springs ready .. is that all you need to build the new front shocks .. or are there parts needed off the stock sport suspension kit on my car? I am curious if I really need to take my fronts apart etc.

Thanks!

I installed the CF strut brace this morning. Looks pretty, not really sure it did anything in the handling department; maybe a bit more steering feel. Waiting to decide on springs before I install the suspension.

it's probably been discussed somowhere else, but isn't there an existing strutct brace on the car already? seems i remember seeing some bolts and large black brace heading towards the fire wall on both sides. If so, i doubt the CF strut brace accomplishes much besides looks.

There is a bar running to the firewall from each strut tower. The strut brace actually uses the same bolt as the bar. I got the CF brace more for the bling factor than anything. I do think it helps a little bit. I contantly drive on excellent curvey back country roads so I have plenty of miles to make an assessment.

Could anybody comment on how these shocks/struts (think that is really all the kit has, right?) compare to stock SPORT suspension? Stiffer? Same?

I thought I read somewhere that this is the old Performance shocks, so wondering if they are equal/less stiff than the new Performance shocks.

Thanks

I was thinking about doing either H & R sports or the Perf Yellow springs. It's a tough decision. I like the idea of dropping it, but I care more about performance. Any thoughts from the guys running either H & R sports or Yellow springs with the old perf. suspension?

just to let everyone know, i had both the old performance suspension kit and eibach sport plus kit in their box at the same time. when i put the struts side by side they looked identical, both made by sachs. but the performance struts piston was much longer and i dont know if that will effect longevity of the strut when matched with a lowering spring.

Some information if anyone is interested.

I just installed this suspension kit with my stock non sport springs. They install fine without the sport springs and do not change the stock ride height.

The rear shocks are the same length unlike what I expected (e46 has different length shocks for sport/nonsport)

The front struts have the same body length but the shafts appear longer than the non
sport, this does not affect anything since in reality the lengths are really the same, the performance suspension internal valving is different which exposes more of the shaft when not under load.

The ride is in my opinion perfect, no bouncyness at all and I feel the dampening is perfect, this also eliminated clunking sounds that I heard front and rear, it was like a hollow thus every time I hit a bump.

And at 60kmi my original shocks were in my opinion worn out, but most would dissagree as did my dealer.

Also, a major question that I was wondering before doing this was if the guide supports were necessary. I compared the non sport (mfg 05/05, before the change) vs sport guide supports. They are identical except the non sport are aluminum vs the sport ones being made of steel. These are not necessary to swap in my opinion, but i would If you have some miles on your originals.
