help: small amount of white smoke and smell of burned rubber after changing coils
The title says it pretty well. I replaced my plugs and ignition coils. Started the car, sounds great, drove good, but just a few blocks down the road I smelled burning rubber. Popped the hood and saw white smoke coming from the ignition coil area. Drove it home and popped the hood. Still white smoke coming from the middle and rear ignition coil area, but the smell wasn't as strong. Going to call it a day and take take the air filter and coil off and watch the ignition coil area.
The coils and plugs are both bosch. This is my first time changing coils and plugs, so I wonder if it's just the rubber on the coils getting hot for the first time? My car is a 2011, 335i, with an N55. Any help you guys can provide is appreciated. Thank you! Adam |
