Bye bye e92.,.hello g31

We finally got around to getting a suitable dog carrier for our 2 Alsatians Frank & Bella. I wanted a g31 a couple of years ago but Mrs Chappers didn’t want a ‘boring’ 5 series estate & decided after I had let her have a go of the disco 4 a few times that she’d like a Range Rover. We almost bought a 2013 super charged Autobiography a little while back but the dealer wouldn’t budge on price & it’s still up for sale now, am pleased that they didn’t now.

The G31 is epic Its a 2018 x drive 40i m sport, has done 48,000 miles & has Bmw warranty until end of January.
Has all the bits I wanted with an Autobiography, pan roof & massage seats Colour is Champagne Quartz Metallic with Cognac leather with grey individual piping. Has AC Schnitzer aero & exhaust which were fitted from new by the supplying dealer.
It’s just so comfy & surprisingly fast, having found out yesterday that it’s quicker in a straight line than a F82, obviously I didn’t have the dogs in the back at the time.

Looks good, welcome to the wagon club! There's something a bit cool about a fast estate, and yours looks the biz: liking that cognac interior

It was £32,950, we paid £30,000 & they gave me £2,950 for the 35i in px.
Am well happy & I bought a Vespa px125 today for tinkering

That’s the plan, the G31 isn’t really tinkerable so I will turn the scooter into a ‘street racer’ along the lines of the one I had when I was 17/18

Huge congrats buddy. That’s a stunning upgrade and certainly the route I’d consider especially for something with that spec and colour combo.

Enjoy.

Great purchase and a perfect upgrade, congrats!

Are you keeping the wood trim, or do you have plans for it?

Thanks, appreciated

When I saw the photos in the add before I went to view it I thought that if I bought it the ‘wood’ trim would need to go & be replaced with the brushed aluminium hex cube but once I saw it in the flesh, so to speak, I really liked it. So no I’m keeping it as is.

It does flow well with the interior colour.

Cheers rasa.
No plans to do any performance upgrades or mods, although I suspect that it’s already had a power upgrade as it’s just too quick for a 40i estate. I accidentally got involved in a ‘drag race’ with a F82 M4 & was pleasantly surprised to find that the G31 was quicker, well at least in a straight line
Have no complaints the 40i is very good

Dogs look lovely Chappers 71 , we lost my GSD a couple of years ago, he was huge, filled up the E91 boot that the two Rotties now rattle around in.

Nice car too :-)
