Once it cracks there isn't anything you can do but replace it. To prevent it from happening you should keep it clean and then protected with a UV protectant like 303 aerospace. Minimizing exposure to direct sunlight (garage parking) helps too.

I believe BMW sells replacement covers for the seats, but I've never looked into it.

Vinyl Repair

Leather Magic Liquid Vinyl - is a highly concentrated mixture of plasticizers and ketones. When exposed to air the ketones evaporate leaving the raw plasticizers in place creating a thin layer of a vinyl-like substance. Liquid Vinyl is primarily used as a base adhesive combined with fibreglass Mesh as well as the liquid mixture (part A) of Peanut butter. It may also be used to permanently glue vinyl together. The ketones actually dissolve the vinyl to which it has been applied and when pressed together and allowed to dry thoroughly the two pieces of vinyl actually become one.

Liquid Vinyl strengthens as it cures. The longer the liquid vinyl is in position the stronger it becomes. Liquid vinyl dries in about 3-5 minutes in 60 to 70 degree temperature, with low humidity

leatherette cracks in CPO 328

Hey,

wondering if you think they'll cover me. I have cracks in leatherette driver side seat, left thigh bolster.
Car is a CPO with about 44,000 miles still under extended warranty and I purchased extended maintenance.
Anyone have experience with this? All the threads I have read were people still under new car warranty, but it seems like everyone was able to get it replaced no questions asked.

When did the factory warranty expire? It's not covered under CPO warranty, but they might goodwill you a replacement considering the car's mileage. Certainly worth a try.

Depends on what needs to be replaced. The seat bottom of my driver's seat is starting to stretch and the dealer said it would take $900 to replace (mine is leather).

I have 2 fairly large crask on the driver side seat, left thigh bolster as well. I do not have any warranty on the car anymore. I dont think anything can be done to fix it, but what product should i use to maintain the leatherette?
I currently just purcahsed the armour all leather care gel, but not used it yet.
Would this suffice?
looking for suggestions/advice.
thank you,
