Guy who was supposed to mail me a copy of his disk realized he had the outdated disc as well. Doh!
Can't find it on ftps/ngs/torrent/irc Pretty funny actually, I could probably get the most obscure software with relative ease thru any of those channels and this is proving impossible. I think most e90 owners have higher morals than I do. I got a warning from a few members on the forum via PM not to do this. I tried to see if someone over at the BMWNAV Yahoo Group could help out, and pretty much got the same response. Oh well.... |

I just picked up my 330i 2 weeks ago and got a 2005 version. When I get back home I'll be headed down to the dealer, BMW of Riverside and see if I can get the latter version.

Yeah once again ..
This is getting to be like a joke. The guy who was helping me was VERY good intentioned, just forgot to mention he was in Europe and can only give me the Euro DVD images. Anyhow, for our European members, if their is any interest in it I can get this up for ya .. lemme know. Sorry Americans .. I'll keep lookin |

Okay, I found this: 2006.2 Torrent but the file structure makes no sense - it's a 2.15 GB download with one .exe and three .rar files. I downloaded it last night without realizing that and have no idea what to do with it. If anyone can do anything with this, I'll be happy to get it do you somehow (DVD in mail, etc.) so we can all take advantage.

I think this is the set we tried - it's the 2006-2 disc, but it's for a different model and doesn't work in our cars. Tried by a couple of us. |

No matter what I said -- including the fact that the nav system was unable to route me correctly though and into the metro area in which I live and work -- they wouldn't provide the current version (at that time 2005.2). It cost me a fortune to update to 2005.2. Now, even that version is out-of-date. I must say that I cannot understand why Navteq and BMW charge so much for updates. Every software vendor offers maintenance and upgrade pricing for current users. I just don't understand why these providers insist on charging anew for every update. |

Yep, BitStream is right. I got the same files. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THAT, WE HAVE ALREADY... That is for the navigation on X3-X5 (non idrive). Unfortunately our cars & 5 & 7 series would require other disc, which we still are looking for.... !!! |

I'm due to pick up my car at the end of the week. I just e-mailed my CA and told her to make sure I get the latest DVD software. She may have no control over which one is delivered with the car, but because I gave her a heads up, she may be willing to do something about it if I get an older version.

Its upto ur CA if she wiling to swap one for you, if ur car doesnot have it. Few people on this thread replied that they have received latest in their cars. So it should be there somewhere... |

The variety of discs people have rec'd with their cars in the last few months is insane! From 2004.2 to 2006.2 -- it's quite odd. Can't wait for the image! |

Just to reiterate again for the 900th time ..
I have no problems helping someone with a North American 2006-2 Disc Rip or Copy and Upload or Mail. FTP is up and running waiting for someone to just dump the image to. I have more than enough bandwidth to give out accounts on an individual basis as well as throw up a torrent. Just PM me ... |

E90 (330i) and 7-series: different navi versions?
All,
I put the version 2006-2 Navi DVD from a new 7-series into my E90's DVD player and it didn't recognize it. Do the 3 series and the 7 series have different nav systems? Other than the fact that the 7 has the DVD player in the trunk, I thought they were the same. Thanks. BTW - I've been lurking around here for a while now. Thanks for all the great advice. |
