06 325i Auto transmission where to buy

Have a 2006 325i w/ E90 and Auto transmission; having the lurch forward when I brake. Had BMW reprogram and change filter and fluid. Worked for a little while; thinking about doing transmission swap; anyone know where the best place to order transmissions from for the 325i? Any help appreciated.

What’s your mileage and why do you think you need a new transmission? I would suggest replacing your shift solenoids first before you replace the whole transmission.

+1. Can you simulate the lurch by shifting manually between 2 - 1 while stopped? Is it worse once everything is hot (driven for more than 20 minutes)? If yes to both, those are typical solenoid failure symptoms. Unless the transmission was driven low on fluid for an extended period of time.

Also, resetting the adaptions can make the issue go away for a few days. The lurch or bump then comes back once the transmission re-learns it's settings.

I'm pretty tech and mech savvy; have done a lot of my own mech work even as far as complete engine rebuilds; not on a Bimmer though. Where is the best place for price to get the solenoids and 2nd is there a good source that shows any tips or tricks to do that are usually left out of run of the mill instructions? Thanks for the help

Search youtube for ZF6 HP19 and there are a few how to for solenoid replacement. To reset adaptions you need a cable and software. ISTA+ is the software I use.

eBay always has cheap parts and most of the time they know if the part has been working good before taken out of the car. Unless you are planning to put in a brand new tranny in it.
