Should there be slight rotation play in the driveshaft?
6mt 2006 325i
I am getting slight bucking when letting off the gas, which leads me to believe it’s a bad guibo or driveshaft joint. When I went under the car and grab the driveshaft there is a little bit of rotational play. Is this normal? |

Normal to have a slight bit of gear lash in the drivetrain, which you can find by rotating the driveshaft.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Yup, that's about right. I've never actually measured it, but between 5 to 10 deg. is what you'll find.
