Which fuse?

Ok gurus, I tried the fob swap for this doggone rechargeable fob and the car recognizes it, but the fob is a no-go. It could be rhat the new battery was dead when it arrived.

2009 328i

But, before I go ripping apart the new shell, which fuse runs the charging system for these fobs? If I have a fuse out, simple fix.

You can look it up in the above.

Or you can look for the Bentley manual online.

Never heard of the charger in the car being out in my
time here.

Can you use an induction charger that came with a high-end vibrator?

Asking for a friend.

There is NO dedicated fuse for the "Insert Compartment" (S14028 in the TIS circuit diagram):
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...system/uXuCNh9

As you will note from examining the schematic, right side of large diagram, the Insert Compartment is connected to the CAS and receives its power from the CAS (probably through the Red wire at Pin#1 of CAS Connector X10318). The CAS in turn gets its power via two fuses. On your model, those fuses are:
1) F36 (40Amp) and
2) F55 (5A)

Really need to learn how to use TIS Online Service Manual (or Bentley) instead of relying on random advice from "Urban/Web Legend."

But actually made my head hurt, but thanks as I am sure it will come in handy for something else.

Much appreciated. I Reid to run through the wiring diagram to narrow down a power zone and had no idea it was called an "insert".
