SS or BMW

I have searched the forum for as many combos as I can for the SS exhaust and center sections. All I get is reviews for 335 not 330.

Is there anyone that has done a SS comparison VS BMW Performance exhaust?

Complete cat back setups on both.

I have a complete SS on my E46 M3 but seems that BMW performance is what people use more?

i wish there were more people that has the SS system because i have never heard the full system before. alos the BMW system is cheaper at the moment so that is another reason for not seeing many SS BMW's out there.

^ it quality though, i would buy them over anyone else. if i wasnt a college student i would buy SS over bmw performance any day. sure their headers are great but cost you a leg, a harm and half your butt and then the high flow cats will cost you the other arm and half your foot. so by that time you cant even drive your car.

but i think they are the best regardless. its basicly IMO SS is to BMW's as Tubi is to Ferrari

Agreed about the SS comparison.

I am going to ask my aeronautics buddy about flow dynamics. What I am trying to figure out if BMW or SS flows better through the mid section. As the SS is a X design is that flowing better than the Y into a 3 inch.

I know for a fact that the SS stepped headers, race cats, X pipe work great on the M3. So as for quality and fit for the cost it is worth it. Just is this setup over kill for a DD like I am looking at.

Cheers

I believe it to all be perceived quality. It's the name tax. It's like designer jeans vs levis... I'm sure its a great system, but i doubt it performs any quantifiable amount better than the bmw performance or even better the magnaflow system. (not counting header as neither other company offers them). Just what I'm thinking. You can talk to your aeronautics buddy all you want, but there the biggest difference will be flow restriction through the muffler. Again, you can only compare what they have similar to competitors. They have the market cornered for headers...they can charge whatever they want due to likely extremely limited production runs. Their exhausts cost as much or more than a lot of super high quality FULL Ti exhausts out of japan...just silly in my opinion

All true.

Based of a engineering point of view only the BMW exhaust is better as it goes into a single 3 inch pipe.

I believe I will go that route for now.

Why does everyone discount magnaflow so much on here?! lol That will be the 100% route I go when I can afford to purchase an exhaust.

j/k the bmw performance looks/sounds great too....just too $$ for me
