Same here, I'm old enough to remember when we switched from gallons to litres. They corrected the prices way upward but people thought they were getting a great deal until the tank was full.

Diesel and regular unleaded are on par now, which pisses me off because diesel is usually about 10-15 cents cheaper. $1.46 the other day.

This probably belongs in the "You know you're old" thread but I remember when gas first hit $1.00 a gallon. The old pumps only went up to $0.99. The stations had to charge you by the half gallon until they were able to fix the pumps. What a shit show.

My parents had a home movie with me as a young boy, I'd guess about 4 years old, we were at the Santa Clause Parade in Toronto and there's a gas station in one of the shots and gas was $0.19 a gallon. So around '65.

Where did he say you (or everyone) needs to agree with him?

I for one am glad she is gone, but I also saw her as a blight on the OT based on her posts. Others wouldn't agree with me. And that's ok. I neither expect people to agree with me or care whether they do. Which is why I'm generally of the mindset, live and let live. Though not always.

Whether or not one appreciated her sense of humor, she also had the wicked habit of chasing members around the forum, inserting herself into conversations and tagging the forum admins on her posts and (I'm told) DMs as a way to bully people into silence. That kind of behavior is simply not cool. So please let's not have anyone accidentally connect her being banned with her sense of humor. I don't know WHY she was banned but I'm betting its not because her sense of humor didn't resonate with some folks. My guess is it has more to do with her waging a personal scorched earth campaign to have members she didn't like, banned. She succeeded for a while but I'm guessing she flew too close to the sun and it eventually caught up with her.

Can we just move on and get back to the funny stuff?
