1k RPM while idling only on cold start

So as the title says when I first start the car I can feel a slight vibration and the rpm stays at 1k for a minute or two and then goes down to normal. After that no issues at all. Since I discovered that problem I've changed the oil, oil filter, and the spark plugs. Any ideas?

Only about a dozen. Ignition coils, vac leak, wallnut blast, injectors...those are the usual suspects.

There are probably hundreds of threads out there on cold start stumbles on these cars.

FYI, it would help people by knowing what engine you have.

I have a 3.0L 6-cyl. 6-speed Manual. Could it be the valve lifters because today I heard a ticking noise?

Uhmmmm, turbo, non-turbo, diesel...all of those are 3.0, 6 cyl and they can all come with a manual.

How about you state the exact year and model?

His profile description says he has a "BMW E90 325i 2006", you may not be able to see that on mobile app, it's displayed on a normal webpage.
