Well this may be a silly suggestion too, but did you try resetting adaptations OP?

That 2c3f it seems deals specifically to the DME - internal error. Wish I could offer more help.

This is what I fear, that my fuses are ok, sensors replaced, and now o2 Bank 1 is not active.
first I need to get bmw software installed asap.
and test continuity from os sensor plug to dme today.

I am soooo hoping to find a shorted wire rather than a short in the dme.

Did wiring testing for Continuity.
Looked good, but a few wires were multiple contacts.

Took car to dealer.
Going to post report.

They said it is DME.
Shit

More knowledgeable guys than me on this, but there are resistors or something that you can solder in yourself to the DME that may fix this issue. I would not pay the dealer to fix DME unless it was absolutely the last fucking thing possible on this planet to do

Edit: Mosfets is what I meant, not resistors

It's all SMD - most people don't have the tools or skills required to repair it. Including the dealership techs.

A shorted O2 sensor can indeed fry DME components but my guess is that the damaged components are fairly easy to replace. Before having someone replace and code the entire DME, I'd remove the DME from the car and have a competent electronics repair company take a look and replace suspect components. There appears to be a very well regarded one in Vancouver called Excel Electronics with forty 5-star reviews on Google. Probably other good companies in the area as well.

I know a LOCAL guy, but this is what I will try first.
Even cloning a use MSD1 DME is
150 CAD +12% Tax.
+
599 for cloning service that is USD.....so like 900 CAD.
So I am at just over 1000 wth my own labour.

Seriously.......if there is a chance I can get it repaired locally for a soldering job.
Will do this for sure.....but gotta find a good local store first.

Thanks Guys.

This is the N52 pinout but the N54 O2 sensors use the same pins. X60002 pins 5-13 are for pre-cat O2 sensors.

I believe you're thinking of the injector MOSFET failures and those codes are 30BA or 30BB. I think the OP's code is referring to a different area of the DME but regardless, a good electronics shop should be able to determine which, in any, components are bad.

I replaced a fried $1 SMD driver chip in the JBE and saved $400 + coding for a new one.

The PCB had a conformal coating that added a bit of work to get the old part removed, but it wasn't too bad if you know how to solder and use a very fine soldering iron and a magnifier.

No Luck with any Local Shop even the one Dealer recommended.
So I found an Awesome guy that got me a MSD81 and coded it to my Car and now my error is gone and holy smokes......car is running Extremely Smooth.

My Original DME was MSD80, and now I have a MSD81.
Damn what a difference in smoothness in my car.

So there you have it.
Thanks for all who responded.....

The MDS80 also went on our 3/07 build 335i. Previously, a year prior had the mosfets replaced. Then a month ago starting getting misfires and O2 errors. My indy gave up on it. Based on the codes it was the DME.

In the end we got a new MDS81 DME installed and coded. The car has never run better.
