some great photos....
I'm still working up the courage to get the car out on a track. I'm having a hard time justifying it with a perfectly good autocross car sitting in the garage next to it that would just need some brake work(mostly adding brakelights) ad a few other things to be decent for trackdays too... At least the e90 will get autocrossed next sunday if the weather holds... |

Looks like you took that last corner a little wide. The wagon looks very at ease on the track.

My wagon is very at ease on the track it seems. With the 325 engine, and AWD, even with DSC/DTC off it's nearly impossible to get my car out of control. I only went off the track once, after not waiting to warm up my tires before trying to drive 10/10 . Eisenman racing, and "R" compound very, very soon......... :rocks:

I spent the weekend up at Circuit Mont Tremblant in Canada. If any of you get a chance to drive this track DO IT! There is a blind uphill/downhill combo with a blind turn at turns 2-4 that are just incredible. You're doing this sideways hopping cresting the hill at about 110mph, then zipping down the hill into a sweeper that compresses due to the hill, and you can keep the speed up. Incredible feeling taking it on the right line.

... and this one of me and two of my buddies coming off of Namerow corner, down onto the front straight. We're going close to 100 there.

Chicago area autocross
Had my 2nd autox this weekend at Maywood Park, a horse racing facility near Chicago. There are a lot of autocrosses here including BMWCCA, a VW club, etc. This was autocross 5 of Windy City BMW, the Chicago area CCA chapter. I ran Saturday for the first time with a CG-lock installed on my seatbelt. It locks the lap belt but not the shoulder belt. I'm thinking of getting into this seriously and will eventually install a racing harness, etc. Will keep the car pretty much stock until my skills reach a point where upgrading the call will matter. I may be looking at a set of wheels and tires for the track for next season to avoid having to replace my runflats too often.

Here are a couple of shots from my HPDE at Mid-Ohio. Saturday we dealt with rain, hail, sleet, snow, lightning and 40-50 mph winds for most of the day (oh, and the non-windchill temp. was about 39 deg. F.) Sunday was much nicer, and much more enjoyable.
I thought the car did very well considering its weight and the stock tires. Next year will bring Kosei K-1's and some stickier tires, so I'm looking forward to even bigger fun!
