Front end float
Hey all
I just picked up an e90 xdrive. Love the steering feel (among other things), but find the car doesn’t feel super buttoned down on the highway. Would swapping the current Michelin primacy mxm4s for PSSs help? If not, would love ideas on affordableish solutions. Thanks! |

If you mean the front end feels light at freeway speeds, that might be aerodynamics (lift). If there is a rear spoiler but no front one, your car may be pushing the rear down and lifting the front, for example. A front splitter (not for looks, one that pushes down) might help.
If it is just squirmy or slow to respond to steering input, but not light feeling, change the tires as you suggest. All this assumes your suspension is pretty tight; no bad bushings, etc. and the alignment is pretty good. So if it was mine, I’d get the suspension looked at first, then do tires, then play with aero. |

Since we don’t know the mileage on your car, it is a little hard to guess what is wrong. But my guess would be to replace the shocks.
