Comfort Access Issues
I bought my 2010 E92 335i a little less than a year ago knowing it had comfort access, however I had not noticed at the time I was buying the car that the driver's door handle's comfort access features weren't working. I took out the door handle to find that it was unplugged. I plugged it back in and the handle started to become warm, which I'm assuming means that there is a short which explains why it was unplugged. Would replacing the door handle solve this or could there be an issue somewhere else in the circuit?

I have heard of CA door handles going bad before. I would buy a used door handle off ebay and swap it out. I wouldn't pay more than 50$ for a used door handle painted in your factory color. Other wiring could be damaged but it is unlikely.
Then resync the door handles: Insert the metal key into door lock to manually lock and then unlock the doors. Insert the CA fob into the slot and then start the car. Turn off the car and remove the fob. Lock the door with fob button. The door handle CA should work again. |
