Shocking MPG
Hi all,
Im driving a 320d E90, Current MPG is about 30Mpg, I have cleaned the EGR valve (It was fair bad !! ) EGR temp was only 60 deg, now its up to 80-85 deg...done a full service, noticed that one of the intercooler pipes was broken, replaced that, also changed the glow plugs.... What can I do next???, |

add some acetone to the fuel, 2oz per gallon of fuel in the tank in addition to whatever lubricity additive you are using, it will help clean the injector nozzles and the inside of the combustion chambers
Also, check air filter |

also, the thermostat is an area of contention on the turbodiesel, not allowing full engine warmup (causing poor mileage). check the coolant temps and warmup time to see if the thermostat is malfunctioning

Poor mileage? What is the normal/advertised MPG as opposed to your 30MPG? Probably close to 40, I would imagine.
