MP3 problem
okay so i burned an mp3 disc and popped it in and the screen only displayed 5 songs and when i tried to turn the idrive knob to scan for more songs i kept getting the resistance. so i pushed the knob down hoping it would give me more songs, still didn't work. the only way to skip to the next songs was to use the scroll buttons on my steering wheel or the scroll button next to the eject button.
starting to get a little frusterated with the idrive button.

I have an MP3 disk and it only shows five songs too. As to your problem, I can keep scrolling to all the songs. I hit the resistance but if you keep the knob turned it will continue on to the next five. In your post, you say you pressed down which is not what you should do - just keep the knob turned.
PS I like the sound quality and how the idrive displays song and artist for the song currently playing. |

Scrolling through MP3 directories....
Hi,
Got my e90 last week. Burned an MP3 CD and experienced the same problem with the resisting i-Drive controller when you scroll down further than 5 entries. Does anybody know a workaround for this? Maybe it is possible to burn the CD a bit differently (with a playlist or something). It would be wonderful if I could scroll through "25+ MP3 files" directories quickly...... Regards, Kris |

Have the same problem on my newly picked up E90 335i. All my discs with MP3s refuse to scroll without resistance from I-Drive.
Hopefully there's an update coming for this.

My iDrive doesn't smoothly scroll over all the songs on an mp3 disc either. I thought the resistance from iDrive was normal(?). BTW, I have a 2006 325xiT built 12/05. Is there something wrong?

the "resistance" is the way its designed so we'll all just have to get used to it.

A colleague has the CD changer (I don't) and he says that the single CD player displays spaces as "_" and the CD changer doesn't, i.e. it displays the space between words.

Nero is the most popular... but not the only one. There are many posts in this forum that give the settings for Nero etc... Dave |

I will be burning some 8Gb DVD's in a similar way once my iTunes database has finished converting over from AAC back to MP3, at that point I can comment further However, I cetainly have had many more root folders than you have and had no problems... |
