No problem..After that step, you should be good in about 10 mins (Take your time when doing it for the first time).

It took me 20 mins when I first did it as I was reading everything. If you are confused at any step, post it here and we will help (before proceeding to the next step) :-)

I was officially able to get the digital speedo to work. Now I just need to figure out how to get into DWAS module to do the buzzer.

Showsol2211,

Try this instead of following the steps from 62 to 68.
-Use Control-F to find the value you want to change
-Change the value
-File>Save As
-Change the save file type to All Files (*.*)
-You'll see the FSW_PSW.MAN file
-Click on it once
-Click Save
-It'll prompt you if you want to replace the file
-Click Ok
-Continue with step 69

Nice work..

Yea instead of kombi, select dwas and you should be able to find it (use ctrl F to find the line).

I did everything from CAS like the video I attached. I will try this after a few and see if I can get the DWAS and get the alarm chirp a little louder. I was told to do the following:

"Work like a charm, in DWAS, find BUZZER_HIGH_LEVEL and replace:
wert_06
wert_07
wert_08

with
wert_04
wert_05"

When I looked at what mine is currently, the BUZZER_HIGH_LEVEL is currently set to wert_04.

57. Select “CAS” then select “READ ECU” this is going to create another FSW_PSW.TRC file but only
with the values on for the module we select.
58. Select “READ ECU” this will read all the values from the specific module and place ten in the file
stated above. You will get a screen like this.. you can close it.
59.
60. Leave ncs open and head to the “work” folder.
61. Open the FSW_PSW.TRC file with notepad
62. File>save as FSW_PSW.MAN (be sure to select “save as type” to all files so that it will accept our
“.MAN” extension. If you fail to do so it will just save it as a text file .TXT
63. The “FSW PSW MAN” profile that we used is going to use this “FSW_PSW.MAN” file . this is
where we are going to make any changes and then NCS will write this to ECU.
64. Open the file we just saved with notepad will look like this.
66. The basics are if an option is enabled it will say “aktiv” if its not it will say “nicht_aktiv”
67. Search for the option “BC_DIGITAL_V” and change the value from “nicht_aktiv” to “aktiv”

It is when I am searching for the “BC_DIGITAL_V” in the file I saved. I know I am doing something wrong, but I am not entirely sure what It is. I stopped for now because I didn't want to make any mistakes and was hoping to get some insight from the people on here.

The one that I specifically want to change once I learn how is "BUZZER_HIGH_LEVEL".
If you're following that DIY properly your MAN file should end up as an exact copy of your TRC file since you're literally doing a Save As to create the exact same file under a new name. You might be looking at a MAN file from a previous coding session. If for some reason you're still not managing to save properly, just open your TRC file, select all, copy/paste into a new Notepad document, and save that new document with the .MAN extension. There you go, a complete MAN file.

Lamer note: Make sure you're saving the new MAN file to the appropriate directory, since Notepad defaults to saving to your My Documents folder.

Mine is set as above in bold and it chirps very loudly! I'm wondering if there's an "intermediate" decibel level because it's currently loud enough that I find it almost obnoxious. Then again, I like that I can hear it in the house when I lock the car after forgetting to do so outside.

So do you have both variables in there? Currently my car has ONLY wert_04 and no other variables.

Alright, I am going to try to code it later this evening. I will try adding them both to see what it does. Thanks for the advice!

It is VERY faint. Here is a video of it. You can hear dogs barking several blocks away, but the alarm is still quiet. I have to be right by the driver side rear to make sure that the doors locks. Most of the time you can hear the locks more than the chirp.

OBC

Question, has anyone been able to determine all the options for the OBC digital display. I noticed that you can get your engine temperature displayed on the digtal steering wheel but what about the OBC, any other options that can be coded in. Are there any lines of code that can be added? Just throwing this out there, , ,

Alright, I have to be doing something wrong. I followed the normal procedure. Go into the app, F1 then F3, selected my chassis, CAS, back button, then I did "Process ECU" and I don't have an option for DWAS. I do have KOMBI in there and several others though.

Another thing that may be unrelated, but I figured I would bring it up anyway. When I go through the BC on the car. I can see the options for what it does when I lock/unlock. I don't see a horn in there like some people have talked about. Is this normal?

While I am still waiting on my cable to arrive from Hong Kong (hopefully within the next few days), I decided to follow the NCS_DIY and get my laptop set up and ready to go when I receive my cable but I ran into an obstacle.

I followed the instructions all the way through #9 which says:
9. This will open device manager.
a. Go to PORTS> double click on com1 > port settings tab > advanced

I go to device manager and all I find are COM11 & COM13, both of them listed as "Standard serial over Bluetooth link".

I do not see COM1 but I do have the option to switch COM11 & COM13 to COM1, but then again, if I do switch them, COM1 would still be a "Standard serial over Bluetooth link".

Do I have to wait for the cable (USB interface) and connect it to get COM1 active? Do I have any other options? Hoping someone can give me some suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Yes you need the cable, can't configure a device you don't have attached to the computer.

Thank you for the clarification.

I thought that was the case but I #11 on the instructions states connect the cable and got me wondering if there indeed was a way to get the COM1 port configured before I connect the cable.
