Secondary Cat Delete

I've been looking to get a bit more sound out of my exhaust and I noted that a muffler delete was just way too much for me. I would go catless DP's, but then I'd have issues during emissions testing.

So I was wondering what everyone felt about getting a 2nd cat delete for sound? It's gonna cost me about $135.... is it worth the cost? I searched around and the performance gains seem to be negligible.

I'm just looking for a louder and deeper note to my exhaust without having to go aftermarket.

i wondered the same thing too, but I believe that secondary cats may also effect emission if your primary cats fail

more response, faster and more audible turbo spool. increase in 5-10 rwhp, all for $135. whats not to like! oh right, forgot the most important factor. the sound is awesome. it now gurgles and is throatier.

Plan on getting some resonators to replace them. It'll sound very raspy without the cats

Are you sure you guys are talking about a second cat delete? It sounds like you guys are talking about what will happen with DPs

I have that same setup. You will have a raspy sound right in betwen 1600/1700 to 2000 rpms. You are going to change your driving style 2000rpms and up. I have and 6mt though. Beside that you will like it.

Yup, nothing really noticable but I'm sure it has to be good for a few hp.

Got mine done for free pretty much. Traded the cats out for the work. Our secondary cats are worth about 80 to the junkers

Well after asking around a few local shops here in the good ol' state of NC ( by god). I found that it is illegal and also a felony if caught by the EPA if you remove your secondary cats.

yeah, most states are similar I think. Remove the exhaust first... not on the car different story. And gut them for stealth.
