i just got downpipes installed, and love the sound.. definitely got louder.

but i want more ... is the change from stock to catless downpipes just as big as the change from catless downpipes to fully catless (HPF)?

there is the youtube video of it on my car...which i am selling now or willing to trade with ae

hpf exhaust is just a bit too loud for my taste, but some others that have heard mine says its not that loud...however i do a lot of highway driving and dont want it to be that loud cruising.

thanks for the post... I have stock exhaust with catless dp's and I get rasp around 5-6k when I floor it, but I hear zero rasp on your video. is that the case? the resonator does that much for it?

that's amazing .. even though the first owner (guy in HPF video) said it's very raspy lol... did you ever have just catless downpipes with the stock exhaust?

yeah i did...before i had this i was catless dps and stock exhaust and that was slightly raspy when going full throttle...but it all depended on the day i guess because sometimes it did get so raspy that it almost reminded me of my e46 m3.

but caatless dps and this hpf exhaust there really is no rasp...kinda weird that the other guy said there was so much rasp...maybe he has a different definition of rasp. my idea of rasp is the e46 m3...that was super super raspy.

yeah the sound is truly incredible, but only downside is some drone at 2500-2900 rpms which really isnt bad if you drive through the city but gets annoying when cruising at 70-80 mph in 6th gear.

if you could avoid cruising at those rpms then this is truly the best exhaust out there...the sound is so deep...everyone rubber necks when i drive by =). also this exhaust is not stupid loud either which is why i really like the sound of it...not ricey at all but loud enough to get someones attention

but i do a lot of highway driving traveling anywhere from 300-400 mile trips almost every week so you can only imagine why im trying to sell this exhaust to get something a little quieter...but i dont want stock...i still do want something a little louder like ae.

I have a similar setup...except I have Ar Catless downpipes, Vibrant resonators in place of secondary cats, and 3" alluminum piping from the resonators.

Sounds AMAZING! and no rasp and barely any drone. I don't have drone when cruising in 6th gear or anything. I only get very slight drone when doing an initial acceleration but only lasts like half a second lol. Its wicked! Mine is loud though, loud enough to turn every head on a street when i romp on it but its not loud if i drive like a grandmother lol.

Oh and above 4500rpm it sounds like a race car

Definitely leave some feedback or videos after the install! I'm sure lots of people would benefit from it

Just buy the AE exhaust and call it good. I'll even take a video showing how loud and pleasant it is with AR catless, intake, and FMIC. Those combined have made the AE exhaust even louder and at WOT there is nothing that sounds as sexy.

Sorry, my inline 6 will not sound like a fart can. The guy with CPE and the HPF Gen2 sounds OK, but it still sounds too loud and way to raspy.

Here's a newer vid from AE.

Mine definitely does not sound like a fart can. It sounds very deep and mean just like a 500hp car should sound like. It has very little rasp and its actually the perfect sounding type of rasp. When I did the secondary cat delete and didn't have resonators, the rasp was absolutely terrible. Now, the rasp sounds fantastic (with resonators) and it's comes into play at about 5000rpm. Trust me, I hate rasp, but this is a race car rasp, not a honda civic rasp or a e46 m3 rasp.

I understand that ae+ar is one of the most popular combos for the n54 but it doesn't sound that much louder than stock exhaust with catless downpipes. It may sound "nicer" or "deeper" but I'm not going to spend that much money on an exhaust that barely changes the decibel level... There has to be an option that makes it very loud and deep with bearable/minimal rasp... This setup seems to be it which is why I just want more videos or feedback
