The e90 is a different headlight completely. If you call the retrofit source they will tell you that it's permanently glued but if you call the guys in CA and the NE they are doable. Just find out the exact size of your lens and order it up with spacers. You might be mechanically inclined but these take patience and a touch of ocd to make perfect. Results are ridiculous especially with genuine osram-cbi bulbs. Do it properly, spend the cabbage.

I also believe the step is to not blind oncoming traffic and light up the passenger side of the road more.

sorry to revive this thread but I ordered the lenses TRS told me to for my lights (2007 335i E90 with bi-xenons) and the techs at the company doing all my custom work said the lenses are 1/16th an inch to large and are wondering wtf? Is there some trick to this, is there cutting required. I ordered the ZKW-R lenses because apparently the COO of TRS drives my exact same car and thats what he used. Any pointers they are in the hands of the installer in LA right now. Thank you

If you drive a Pre-LCI then you need ZKW and not the STI-rs

I have a pre LCI E90 and I bought the STI lenses. My guy said he had to file down the lenses to make them fit into the projector housing.

i'm doing this install as well, zkw r's did not fit whatsoever. trs told me they would but they didn't so I ordered up a set of sti's. those were the right diameter but the lip was a bit too thick. little modification to the housing fixed that, gonna work on focusing it this week and will post my results.

Hi,
I have this OEM AHL bi-xenon headlight on my E91 LCI 2011:

http://s21.postimg.org/cfqbalyhj/201...1_18_59_54.jpg

I have a problem on lens/bulb loosing in headlight that shake my xenon light when engine is on, I suppose this is caused from this loose:

you have a suggestion to remove loose of lens/bulb and solve problem?

Hello. I am in the process of retrofitting my e93s headlight. SInce I was upgrading the rings I decided to upgrade the clear lenses. I order the Koito 3 inch clear lens and also upgraded the corner lights with that. But the thing is this lens advertised 3inch and it is little bit bigger than oem lenses. So I can not fit them. According to the seller I need to remove the all for legs and bend them to make a oval shape and then put them in. But I really do not feel like to remove the adaptive part! So I am seeing that you did the same thing like i did just removed the 2 bracket legs and bend over. So the lens that you bought fit it right away? Or did some tricks?

here is the link for the item that I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/BavGruppe-3-...1W8yyY&vxp=mtr

And I am assuming the lens you bought is the same one like this :

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...r.html#reviews

Since I bend the legs I can not continue to my project. And it really frustrates me since seller did not warn me with the sizing before I bought. I am not a professional installer just going with the numbers to get the perfect results. But I am quite disappointed with the size!

Can you tell me so I can order right away!

don't wast your time on clear lens up grade, the projectors in the E90 is crap.
lens holder are ABS plastic, you will brake it trying to remove lens and the focal point is way off with either one of those lenses from TRS. I ended up retrofitting a FXR projector in mine E90, 10X better.

What year is your car? I'm about to do a headlight overhaul on my 07 e90. I've been trying to find a diy on Halo rings but everyone I find is for e92 or e90 LCI. Will new projectors will work with my adaptive lights?

06, I don't have this car anymore and I did my retro about 5 years ago. You will lose your adaptive functions, to make a bracket for a new projector all the adaptive motors had to be taken out, plus you need to code out the all the headlight bulbs and adaptive errors. It is alot of work but it's doable, GLW your project.

Mounted the inner halo on the old inner halo. Outer halo I made somewhat of a seat . Dremeled the outer orb so the bottom would sit in there and then expoxied the hell out of it . This is for non adaptive. Adaptive will require a different outer one

Lol and I have adaptive........I guess I'll just have to take it apart and figure it out. Luckily I can get a free loaner for the recall
