Misfire with a simple fix

So the other day I was replacing my rear brakes and rotor on my car, I had the rear jacked up with jack stands. Usually I would do the job in like 2 hours, but I decided to take it slow by cleaning up the brake carrier ect.

So my car was in the air for about 3 days and when I was done and started the brake in process I realized I needed gas. Of course I did not think twice about it and just finished braking it in and parked my car without filling it up.

Next day I was driving my car out of the garage, rumble rumble rumble, oh no not the dreaded misfire. I had changed my spark plugs about 2 months ago and have been tuned for about a year. I been pretty much problem free with my 335i and the misfire just ruined me day. So I swapped out the coils and still misfiring like crazy, reset adaption and nothing. So then I thought well i might as well fill up the gas and see what it does.

and BOOM... no my car didnt explode but the power was back and no misfire.
So if your happening to be misfiring then maybe you just need a fresh tank of gas.

Just out of curiosity, what fuel were you using? 91?
For the octane to degrade just over 4 days seems quite extreme.

I think he means he just ran out of gas...not that it degraded.

Funny story... We've all had those moments!

I seaformed it today just for the hell of it as well. I will order a fuel injector soon and replace the 6th injector just in case, I really did not enjoying misfiring.
