Mine went in easy as well. shifts smooth as well, just feels awkward as it sits higher. Got it from the same website.

Hmm, wait did you push it all the way down? I thought mine was in as at first it sat high but pushed it down a little harder and it sat correctly. It shouldn't twist left or right if sat correctly. Mine twisted when it wasn't all the way down. If not call Bimmian as maybe they can assist?

Supcat...Nice job but two things I want to say...

- First your original shifter does not look like the stock ones that come on the 2012 335i E92.
Those bulbous chrome ones came on the 2006-2008 E9x cars. Yours should be more angular and matte finished.

- Second is your Bimmian shifter seems like it is sitting higher than everyone else. Did you press it down all the way of do you find it just sits high like that?

I was really tempted to do this but i went the lazy route instead.
I must say, i am really happy with the upgrade. The alcantara adds a nice touch, and it feels more ergonomic than the stock one.

On a side note, i also got some pedal covers for $35 on amazon. I couldn't resist.

I have the manual boot on mine and it really cleans up the look. Just need to find a place that will ship that knob to Canada.

well, installed mine the other day. it's definitely cheap feeling to be honest. and even when you pop it in, sometimes it comes back out. wife hates it. will be returning it but I did get the manual boot with trim so if anyone wants it...

Different strokes for different folks I guess nothing looks cheaper to me than the original all plastic chrome auto shifter but to each his own. Also not that it matters as you don't like it but mine has never popped out since the day I installed it.

Description says all 3 series 2006-2011. I'm running the same knob but from a different seller on my 2010.

so I just installed the performance shift knob with alcantra, got the same one from amazon, fits my 09 e93 perfectly and feels amazing! now the debate is whether to pony up the $80 for the alcantra shift boot. not sure it's necessary since the alcantra faces away from you when installed but would certainly complete the look

and, if anyone wants my updated shifter that I'm now not using, AND is a little handy with either soldering or using heatshrink, you can have mine! turns out I ripped the purple wire in half. there's enough wiring left to be able to put it back together but I am sure bimmian is not going to take it back now. And they were willing to with no restocking, so they are a great company to deal with. I informed them of this issue and am waiting to hear back from them now...
