Help With Wiper Blades
Hello all,
So I was out today at O'reillys and picked up some Bosch Icon wiper blades (24 OE and 19 OE) for my E90 LCI. At the store, the tech couldn't get the cover back on, so I just thought I would head home and give it a go myself. When I get home, I find that I can't attach the wiper blade cover either. Long story short, I have since returned the blades (Boxes were literally open and I got a full refund, O'Reilly's gets a thumbs up from me). But I am not sure what I should get to replace the replacements, so to speak. Where do you all buy your blades for the side lock style on the E90 LCI? I'd like to get some OE ones, but I'm not sure the best place to purchase. Thanks for any help you can provide! |

i tried the same oe bosch replacements from costco...the long side wouldn't fit as the way you described.
then i ordered some oe replacements online and the long side was too long. i gave up and just the oem genuine bmw part from fcpeuro. guess what...they fit perfect and literally took 30 seconds to install. its a little pricey for wiper blades but at least i know my next set is free with the life time warranty from fcp euro i would just opt for oem |

Just save yourself the hassle and get OEM blades from the dealer. They are streak free and last. It's like $47 bucks and they can install for you when you buy it from parts department

I usually lube at home so I don't get any KY jelly on my door handles or steering wheel. When I get there, I have someone hold the door for me while I grab my ankles and walk in backward. The pain (and the price) are worth it; I find they work the best. If taking it locally isn't your thing, try somewhere like FCP Euro or a similar online retailer. |

I knew about their lifetime replacement guarantee, but I thought surely this must exclude consumables. Good to know... |

I've had crappy luck with non-oem blades. I must've gone through at least 5 brands over the last 9 years. I keep going back to BMW's. They tend to be the quietest, smoothest, and longest lasting.

LCI and Pre LCI wiper brackets are different.
For Pre-LCI, watch this video and get this kind of wiper blade attachment. For LCI, it's different than the video. I got a Rain-X Expert Fit beam from Walmart and it was identical to my OE BMW wiper attachments. No adaptors or converters necessary.

Stay away from Bosch wiper blades.. They do make some good products but wipers are not one of them. Oem will last longer than any other brand I have used.

I believe Valeo Ultimate (900 series) wipers are the same as OE

most people don't abuse the policy like returning used oil and there items are marked up higher compared to other competitors. So i'm assuming there more people paying higher mark ups then returning broken items. to be honest i dont really abuse the policy either, because i know if too many people do it, they'll just raise prices. Normally i wouldnt go for that kind of transactions but since bmw parts break all the time, the life time warranty is actually worth it in my opinion, especially for oem parts which tend to go up in price over time as the model becomes less produced. BMW literally doubled the price of oem n54 injectors a few months ago. |
