How do you find the Z4? missus is interested in getting one, needless to say I am strongly encouraging this
what do i think of the Z4....

well i have had mine since june 2004 its early years were a pain with rattles and the like but because it was a second car the dealers had it every time it pissed me off.

if you go for a 2nd hand one aim for post 06 wich is the slight face lift model with the 3.0si engine. i have not heard a bad word about the modle build year (06-09) losts of the early issues have been resolved.

even the original 3.0 engine is strong as is gearbox and diff. (realistically its an E46 with a different bodyshell so you know it reliable)

i go touring with several Z forums up to 15 cars in to europe and the best bit about the car is the boot. because its a canvas folding roof the boot is huge for such a small car and 2 can go away for a fortnight with no problems.

dynamically the car does fine. earlier models were blighted with RE050 run flat tyres (but we all know about those) and most owners see the light and change to normal tyres like PS2.

i have upgraded my suspension with a set of H&R antiroll bars and that makes a nother world of difference to its cornering abilities.

by and large, see a corner, commit, and through you go with a bit of tail out if you want.

if you want the deal of a life time go for a Z4M/// this is what teh Z4 should have been but without the S54 engine. better steering, better brakes, better suspension, diff, balance etc.

but for an every day roadster with little risk of visiting the bushes the 3.0si is the kiddy to have. good prices also exist for this car now!
