Morning all,

I'm spec'ing an E91 with Harman Kardon but no Sat Nav or iDrive. I believe since it's the Sport Plus it comes with the USB Audo Interface.

Got a couple of questions:
1 - With the Professional Head Unit do I have the same options to customize the sound to be just as I like it or is it pre-set?
2- My dealer told me without Sat Nav I won't be able to use my ipod with USB, but just use the AUX In. Is this correct?
3- If the above is true, how do I get the ipod to work with the Professional HU?

This all depends on which stereo system you have.
The sound quality is not determined by the head unit unless you have the base
stereo system which has no amp.

There are three audio systems (4 if you count individual not common)
every one but the base system has and amplifier and more speakers .
Read the pdf's to become familiar with them.

The iPod works as if it were a CD player I believe in the non nav version. I know there retrofits do anyway you just don't get a visual display other than the LED one on
the radio. I am not an expert on the new cars electronics
especially in Europe where things may be different. If this is
a new model things have changed in the last few years but if you
have USB it looks like there would be a way of connecting the ipod.

Is this a brand new car ?

Thanks, will take a look at these documents. It will be a brand new car, not built yet.

Not sure if you guys have something different in the States, but I'll be getting Harmon Kardon and Professional Head Unit here in Europe with the following setup. Seems crazy if I can't hook up an ipod.

I would think you could interface it through the USB port with the proper cable.
Since I have and 06 I have not been to interested in whats going on in the
new cars, but I know its changed a little . All you used to get is the Aux Input
but since USB and ipod is so standard now I think they offer something in the new cars.

Answer: it depends

1) hk has a 7 band eq, others have bass and treble adjustments only
2) if you indeed have USB, you will be able to call your iPod
3) depends on the answer to the second question however check back when your car gets delivered and we can tell you what your options are
