RMS?

I'm looking at a set of speakers that have an RMS of 150 watts.

The amp I'm looking at is 75 watts per channel but I can bridge it & it will make 200 watts per channel. I know it will cut the amount of channels available down in 1/2, if I do that. This doesn't concern me.

I found a calculator of sorts on-line, and it said that you don't want to go more than 1.5x the RMS, for an amp when pairing it to speakers. So, that would indicate the 225 watts per channel is the max I should use on on a speaker rated at 150 RMS.

Anyone's thoughts ?

Ok list the link to the speakers.
Is that the rating for an entire set of doors and floors?
Can you get the specs separated by doors and floors?
Most of the stuff I have seen here doesn't go much over
100 for doors maybe 150 for floors.
Then consider the wattage how many 100 watt per channel
amps have you ever had even in home stuff.
You can go plenty deaf with 75 watts per channel in a car

I haven't seen wattage approach that level unless it's a super
exotic pro amp or a super cheap I am trying to sell you this
with a big number amp(for subs mostly).

Also Technic use to say anything over 150 watts and you need thicker
than stock wiring.

The speakers are for the underseat subs. They are 150 RMS. So, I'm wondering if a 200 RMS is too high?

Not too high at all. Just set your gains appropriately.

Ya, I don't want to rewire the subs. I'll find another amp lower the 150 rms

I'm essentially powering 75w to every driver in my car and that is more than enough with the gains set properly.

I have Focal IFBMW-Sub v2 underseats. They hit hard enough to "feel" them in my feet if I want on 75w.

Yes, this makes sense. Your RMS is 90watts. So, 75 would absolutely run them.

Umm yes. Point is you don't need over 100W to power most car audio speakers, esp in a luxury car with all its sound dampening.

Sounds like or similar to a VXi amp. I use a VX800/8i and bridge the last two channels and use the 200W for my sub. Hits plenty hard.
