Steel wheels e91 touring

Hello all

I have at least one cracked MV3 alloy wheel and suspect at least one other is as it is not holding air. I am fed up with alloys and the state of our roads etc so can anyone recommend a UK steel wheel supplier that can supply steels for a 318d e91 touring LCI.

These will be for year round use, not just winter.

Cheers
Ben

A bit of a drastic measure going to steel wheels. Would spoil the look of the car.

It’s cheaper than buying new alloys every time they crack! I’m not fussed by the look to be fair, just after cheaper wheels and tyres.

Instead of steel wheels, you could get a good second hand set of 16" alloys. These are style 156 bought off Ebay with little-used winter tyres.
The ride quality is so much better with non-runflat tyres that I am thinking of keeping them on in the summer, or getting another set with non-runflat summer tyres, rather than the 17"s that I've just took off.
205/55-R16 tyres are a lot cheaper as well.

Not as "cool" looking perhaps, but much more pothole friendly!

Will these fit over E91 335d brakes?

No, on a 325d/330d you would need minimum 17" wheels to clear the brakes so you would at least need 17" or maybe 18" I'm not sure how big you're brakes are.

To update the thread, I have a set of 17" steels now with tyres. Much better ride than the terrible run flats and alloys.

The normal 17 inch BMW alloys don't suffer from cracking and are easy to buy 2nd hand.
