*PURCHASING A 335i NEED HELP! PLEASE!*
I plan on purchasing a 335i but am torn between 3 options !!! All 3 are relatively at the same price, and that's one of the reasons why it makes it so hard
BMW 335i coupe Black on Red ~120,000km - M-package coupe, custom N54 MHD stage 2+ tune. ~ 482 HP at rear wheels. The 335is coupe black on black, has 84000km on it The 335xi coupe (Fully loaded) has 92500km on it, white on red! (Which I orgasm for) Would appreciate an answer, thoughts and experiences on why you would choose one over the other if you were in my sittuation. |

2) the 335is might be your best bet since aesthetically and options (most likely it has all the options etc). Exhaust wise all you have to do is disconnect the vac line to the shut off valve, on the drivers side muffler, and you basically have the PE exhaust. The only hesitation I'd have is that I've seen a lot of posts and vids lately about folks having to replace the entire N54 motor. This has been exclusive to 335is cars from my observation. Idk why. 3) the AWD version is good, if you live in a 4 seasons area where the winters are extreme. Otherwise, I wouldn't get an AWD version. Even then you could install an LSD to counteract the winters. AWD makes the car a PITA to work on. |

If you are: Lazy, don't wanna do anything, but wanna get a fast car for cheap, option 1. Tune enthusiast and likes to DIY, option 2. Looking for a fast-enough but a looking-good car, option 3. Things to consider though... 482 HP is great. FBO + MHD stage 2+ can't give 482 hp. There must be something else that's been done to the car. You have to check what's done on the car. There must be a reason by option 2 is cheap enough to have the same price as option 1 and 3 when it is from 2011~2013. I personally would take this option because I like special trims. This also comes either manual or DCT, so yeah, I am a DCT fan. AWD...I currently drive xDrive too, but AWD is no fun for E90/E92. Of course there is xDelete to make it RWD, but all those items adds up to the weight and it doesn't give you the same feeling as true RWD. It's certainly reliable if you are living in a very cold area. Unless you have a good reason why you need AWD, I wouldn't choose it. Plus, xDrives are PITA to work under the engine(cat, oil pan, waterpump, etc) |

I would go the 335is
less mileage. who knows how molested the 1st option has been. You can make the 335is your own car by doing your own mods, you will appreciate it more. 335ix, personally i wouldn't go near a rear wheel drive 3 series.. its just not BMW |

Maintenance is the priority when buying a 335 because of the potential issues. Considering your location, the all wheel drive may be the best option but I’d prefer an IS while a modded 335 has probably been driven hard. A PPI is your best bet and can give you leverage to negotiate the best price.

The 335is is a 2012 and I do plan on doing a prepurchase inspection through BMW to make sure it's free of any major issues |

Yep by the looks of it everyone just seems to favour the 335is and I'm gonna have to head to the private owner to get a test drive

2011~2013 335i/335i xDrive = n55 2011~2013 335is = n54 335is variant came with n54 only with little tune and overboost feature. Stock is about 320hp where as normal n54 and n55 are 300 hp. |

If you are worried about winters, just install an LSD differential for $2,000.00. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about winters with an RWD e90 that has snow tires. The car is weighted 50/50 weight distribution. So, it works for you in the winter months.
