Which sub?

What subwoofer and amp is everyone running? I’m have older 12 alpine type with pdx5 amp. 200-300 rms and since my seat doesn’t fold down or have a pass through I can barely hear it. I have a small custom made corner box that I bought off here a few years ago. It’s about 1 cubic foot sealed. What’s should I be looking for?

That should be enough to get some good bass into the cabin. Are you sure there is no other problem? Does it sound clean and loud when listening from open trunk?

Sounds ok. But I don’t have a pass through back seat.

Do you have the gain turned all the way down?

Also, read about the advantages of putting in perhaps a pound of Poly fill.

Idk. Try adding a pound of Polyfill. It will make the speaker think it's in a bigger compartment, which should equal bigger and more precise sound.

If not, look into JL Audio Subs & a JL Mono Amp if you aren't using the other 4 channels to power other speakers. If so, look into an Alpine PDX v9. It has 500w rms for a sub.

Sub - JL Audio 12W3v3-4

Just to be sure, do you mean it is all the way clockwise? With gains, the lower numbers mean higher output.

Do you have amps or anything else significant blocking the back of the seat in the boot? I used to have my amps mounted there and had the same issue of not getting bass into the cabin. Moved my amps to a different spot so the "wall" behind the seats was clear, and it made a HUGE difference!!!

I also had a sealed rear, no folding seats or ski pass.

I bought a custom box that fits over the battery side of the trunk. I can hear and it’s ok but not loud.
