I'm just baffled that not only are the clips pulling out of the door panel, they are also breaking. Which is what has me wondering if a door panel will fix all of the issues, as it seems to be a problem with the retainers too. I'm not sure, like doogee said, it's not rocket science and maybe I'm just over thinking everything, ha. It's scheduled to go back to the dealer in the next few weeks, so hopefully we can get new door panels and what not. I know I've said this 1000000 times, but I just wondered if anyone else has had issues similar and their dealer/techs had figured out the cause. I.e trim catching the weather stripping - causing it to pull off. Not just retainers/clips/dicks failing and pulling out. |

Never had that happen... When I pulled the trim to fix the window regulator it took quite a bit of force to get it out.

It was hot yesterday here in Toronto and when I got in my car I noticed a door trim sitting on the rear seat. All the clips were broken.
Last year I had all wood trim pop right off in the heat as well. I switched to the plastic silver trim and starting to look like the same thing is going to happen to the rest. All clips were also replaced last year.. |

I have a 2010 E91 and have a couple of places where the female clips don't hold, but because the opening in the door panel into which they fit/lock have broken. Since I got the car 16 months ago, I've had the trim off multiple times (wrapping, painting, and finally, replacing with the brushed aluminum trim). I've replaced many of the female clips (where they hold). I concur that you just need to replace the door panels and use all new clips. GL!

I have a coupe and after a hard bump the rear passenger trim came off screw and plastic together. I bought a bag of those plastic rivet holders and will see if they hold up to the dick screws.
