Bluetooth Streaming solution on Pre-Combox (with iPod 6FL)
Hi All,
Just want to share. I just Purchased the ViseeO Tune2Air WMA1000 Bluetooth dongle on Ebay. So far I think this does what everyone who do not have the combox want for Bluetooth Streaming. I just tested it on my 2011 335is (06/10 manufacture date) with perfect results. This is what it can do: 1. Allow you to stream your iphone/iOS device over Bluetooth to your iPod Radio (CIC in my case) Interface 2. It works with your steering wheel control 3. Best of all, it displays the Artist/Track/Title information 4. I've tested it on Pandora as well and all the above applies. Price $99 - Amazon reviews discuss Audis and MBs, however it works on my 2011 BMW This is what it looks like: Thanks. JS Last edited by CenCal X3M Comp; 09-04-2013 at 07:26 PM.. |

Edit: I reread this, and saw your mention of pre-combobox. I'm assuming this means your build has the same components/functionality as mine.
I know in 2011 there were some updates to the BT functionality, i.e. you shouldn't even need this. Although, I've also heard stories that if your build was before sometime in 2010 you didn't get these updates. Is this the case for you? I tried something like this from ThinkGeek this week, it didn't work in my 2010 e90 335. Has anyone tried this with a pre 2011? I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Hi,
My '11 335is didn't come with the combox (i bought mine few months too soon) but does have Bluetooth for phone. I've seen and used other dongles/adapters but they didn't work. This solution is actually for cars and their factory iPod integration. I have the iPod 6FL and the Y-Cable that has always worked when physically connected (using the lightning to 30pin adapter for the iPhone 5), including Pandora streaming. The Tune2air does everything that a physically connected iPhone/iPod does except over Bluetooth similarly to the vehicles with the combox. The dongle even sounds good over Bluetooth. I've seen others talk about the Blackberry media gateway and having to control the function from the phone. This device allows you to use the steering wheel controls or radio/idrive control to scroll through your iPod list or songs, and display Artist/track/song title all without taking you iPhone/iPod out of your pocket. When a phone calls comes through, the audio gets muted just like it does when it is connected to the Y-Cable. I'm going to try make a video and post it later this weekend. |

Good find
This unit supposedly also works with Android devices - you wouldn't happen to have an Android phone available to test with this unit would you? Like to pick one of these up, but want it to work with both iPod & my Droid4...

Hi,
I do not have an android phone. However, I've heard that it will only stream, no steering wheel controls, no data artist information. |

Are you using the BMW Y Cable? Is the device an iPhone/iPod or Android? What happens when you plug your phone directly to the cable? Are you getting the controls and display?

Yes i have the OEM BMW Y cable, it is an Iphone 5. I cannot plug my phone directly to the cable since the new iphone cord is not the bigger one like previously.
