I went with the local in-stock option when I did mine too... slightly more expensive autozone 'gold'... it is still dying 2 years later. Should've bought one from a local parts yard with 60k miles instead of a reman... would've been cheaper and would still be working.

Added some HPB Sequential Smoked LED Side Markers. Took about five minutes to install and pretty happy with the results.

Went to look at my battery yesterday and noticed a pool of water under it. Upon searching the forum I see this is a common issue. Either tonight or this weekend I get to pull out the battery , and figure out where the water leaked in from.
Also hoping the connections underneath battery are not destroyed like I have seen in some posts regarding this issue!!! |

tension strut bushings.
do them if you junk has higher mileage, even if they look good. also, if you lose the rubber nub under the airbox, it will quickly wear through the paint to the bare metal. Thanks BMW dealer tech. so buy another new rubber nub if yours is missing. |

Got new rear Continental DWS06's. I didn't realize I accidentally ordered 255/45/r18 3 years ago! I thought they looked a little meaty....
Got the right 255/35/r18 tires now |

Finally ripped out the defective starter, swapped for another free one. This is the fastest I've heard the car crank in 5 years!
2 hours out and back in. Also did the power steering reservoir while I was in there. One of the nipples snapped off of the old tank while pulling the hoses, had to chop an inch off that hose, but there was enough room to spare. Hopefully I can make it to Montreal in the morning! I was worried I'd stop at a rest area and not be able to crank it over again. And yep, that engine bay is *DIRTY*. shrug. this is not a show car... should break 170k this weekend. |

What is this "free" starter you and others (vilord) have mentioned? I've not heard of it, but my car sounds like it's coughing up blood when I start it cold in the morning.

Swapped Blizzak WS80 winter tires on the Style 264s. Annoyingly, the DAC keeps flashing anytime I even breathe on the throttle at highway speeds. I had a similar issue with my old car on Continental Winter Contact SI, it went away after the first season as the read wore down.
I'm thinking these systems are super sensitive and with chunky, soft tread blocks, the rubber deflection at speed makes the DSC think it's spinning the wheels.

Replaced an injector, did a service on the transmission (sleeve seals, d-seal, mechtronic plug seal, and pan filter (and Valvoline MaxLife fluid). Shifts much better now.
