Coding out bulb checks and error resistors

If replacing bulbs with LEDs, and using the error corrector resistors without coding out the bulb checks, will the system still recognize if one of those LEDs or resistor packs goes out?

If the LED goes out, i doubt it since the resistor is still simulating a traditional bulb.

If the resistor goes, then perhaps a warning will be triggered.

^This. If you don't code them out then you wind up with the cool strobe light effect nearly every time you start your car.

You can wire in resistors: you can get 4 of them for $8.00 on Amazon, or you can code the FRM to not check the voltage either with Carly or NCS Expert. Carly would be a lot easier with this task, IMO.

That wasn't the question.

The question was in regards to replacing pre-LCI tails with LCI ones, but it would include any incadescent or halogen bulb, in pretty much any model year.

it depends on the year because of the FRM NFRM FRM3 etc module. for pre-lci thinking it's 2007 and under which are halogen, your easiest option is to disable check control, cold monitoring and hot monitoring, for all bulbs in the rear end. you have to do it the long way around if it's a FRM. And if I'm not mistaken, FRM 2 and FRM3 modules have the lci taillight option already. the amount of resistors you would have to get at 8 to 15 bucks a piece, and wiring them in is a lot. your better off spending the money on a k/dcan cable and getting into ncs expert and ncs dummy which would open doors for other things also.

There is a video on YouTube. Maybe that will help. This guy with an 08 335 changed out to LCI taillights.
