Hi mate
On my version of 4.0.1 it asks for password and I just hit ok. There must be something different about your install. Have a read through the readme file that you got with your software pack. There's likely a clue in there. Otherwise I can send you a link to the pack that I used.

I don't think the install of NCS Expert 4.0.1 is the problem, it's the profile. Mine is 2.0 and I need 3.0 or 4.0.

I don't get to the stage of entering the password when editing Expertmode as I get some other error when I try that?

Do you know where I can get a 3.0 profile from?

Thanks

No I don't sorry . My software pack must've come with it.

The error I get when I follow the instructions to creating a new profile is: IND-ERR-003

This is after clicking File, Edit profile where it says "No Password needed: Press OK"

After clicking OK..

Click on Car-,Keymemory.
Tick the boxes Car-Keymemory active and Trace individualzable FSW-/PSW.
Kernel functions was already ticked.

It then says Error: IND-ERR-003.

Is anyone able to send me a 3.0 profile?

Thanks

Think I've sorted this now myself...
Found a download ages ago, that didn't work on the old laptop I'm using for coding, probably due to Internet Explorer and using XP.
Tried the link on another laptop and volla, 3.0 profile downloaded and working.

New problem is VIN faulty error, but hopefully updating the Daten files will solve that?

• A quick search on here reveals that maybe you can't run INPA and NCS both at the same time. (I don't recall having this issue, but I do close INPA regularly during coding sessions).
Try closing eveything, disconnect cable, plug it back in and start NCSEXPERT.

• If that doesn't work you may have to disable JB4 if you have that according to another thread on here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=973071

Thanks!

I'm in the process of updating the Daten files and will also try not running INPA at the same time, so thanks for the tip.

I also read about disabling JB4, not that I know what it means or how to do it yet, but if I still have issues I'll look into that. I did read that it relates to the 335 (which I actually do have) but my coding issue I'm after help with here is actually for the wife's E70 X5.

Thanks again.

Yes you must disable the JB4 before attempting to code or program the car.

To do so, just set the JB4 to map zero.

Hi, I am new to coding too. My INPA version is 6.4.3.
In profiles there are only 2, Expertmode and Code Control Unit Allow ZCS Reading.
I haven't done coding yet, I intend to change FM frequency on a Japanese imported BMW year 2006. Please advise, will coding work? Which profiles do I need? WHere to download, how to add profiles? Please help
