Radiator Replacement on xDrive, with hoses. Easy?
Is there anything different about a radiator DIY on an xDrive versus non-xDrive?
Is this a relatively easy to DIY? I'd also like to replace all hoses... -Will this require I get under the car? -Can everything be done from the top engine bay? -Will any xDrive components be in the way of hoses if I need to go under the car? |

You need to get under the car to remove the bolt that hold the trans heat exchanger to the fan. You can then remove the fan and get to the rad.
The drain plug is in the bottom of the rad, which would require dropping the FMIC out from below. Using the drain plug isn't strictly required; you could just pull the hoses and clean up the mess later. xDrive shouldn't really matter. edit: LoL just realized how old this is. How did your radiator swap go? I'm doing mine next week; have slow leak. |
