Do you notice a difference between two wheels or are you just trying to figure out why your brakes fade really fast?

Keep in mind if you're talking about brake temp differences between wheel sizes, you have to keep everything else constant before you can really point to that. As in running same tire, similar ambient temps, similar driving patterns, etc.

I'm curious to hear what you're thinking. I've never heard of smaller wheels causing issues there, in fact everywhere suggests as small as you can go for the track and still fit over your brakes.
Not blaming the wheels at all, just wondered if it was a common issue with the 17x9 fitment. I have changed too many things to blame the wheels.

Fair enough, wasn't trying to get on your case or anything haha. Just curious, since it was something I hadn't heard of or considered before.

Though I swear my is also has brake ducts up front in place of the fog lights, but I could be making things up.

I am running ducts right to the backing plate. I seized a caliper two months ago, and last month I melted all my dust boots. I know that's the price to play, but I had never done that on all four wheels in the same weekend before. But it was also stupid hot out.

They are good on the track. They don't seem to have the initial bite of some of the more aggressive Hawk pads, but they are consistent for me. Not to mention, they have very low wear! I have six track days on them right now and they have negligible wear. I got about 8 track days out of my last set of Hawks.

I would not run them on the street. At least for me, the pad retainer clips fit poorly into the brake piston, so they are always slightly dragging. They are also like any other track pad and are loud and do not stop well when cold. I drive them to and from the track, but I wouldn't drive them on the street regularly.

Thanks for this, very helpful. Not too many objective observations about pads about online. Never had any problems with Carbotech XP-10 pads even in below freezing weather and they did squeal and dust but that's a don't care. Will have to write up something about the Pagid RS29 pads when I get the car back on the road.

Slightly lowered.
Camber front: -1.9, and rear: -1.6. No rubbing.

Actual weight: <17lbs.

The unsprung weight reduction from stock is noticed on both street and track.

Will try 255 wide after the current tires die (very soon).
Looks great tetsuo111

Did you end up jumping to 255s on your E91? Any issues?

Thanks, and nope.

The car didn't see enough track time this season to burn through tires. Also, the 255s always had a lead-time when I ordered. This winter I'm planning ahead and will buy my summer tires during off-season.

Im looking to get a set of slicks for drag racing, whats the widest tire I can run on a 17 inch wheel without rolling fenders?

I drive a 2011 N55 E90. I dont know enough about wheels to know what offset id need to run or anything like that so id need help.

Im currently running 255/35/18 in the rears.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is a 17" wheel possible? Is there a 17" fitment for the F series with the upgraded brakes? This is rear only, I know they won't fit the front. Thanks

I worked on the fitment issue few year ago with David when I originally installed the f30 brakes on my e90. Is been a while but I think 17x9 offset 30 clears the rear caliper.

I'm looking at the ARC-8 17x9.5, ET 35, profile 3, deep concavity. I'm pretty sure the barrel will clear I'd just like some confirmation before I buy a couple. You don't happen to know anyone that has these wheels and can do a quick test fit on the rear of your car do you? Any help would be much appreciated.

No, unfortunately I don't know anyone running that spec. However the spokes on those 2 wheels will be about the same. The wheel will mount 5mm 35 vs 30 offset) closer to the hub but spokes will protrude 6mm further out (9j vs 9.5j) So I think the spokes will clear as well.

Anyone know if the AP racing BBK fits with these wheels? Or any other BBKs that are confirmed to fit?

I have these exact same wheels on my 2012 E93 without any issue. You won't have a problem.

I have style 193 wheels, so they're 18". I eventually want to get 17" Arc-8s. What's the process to get the mph re-calibrated to run on 17s?

Depends on the tire. I sold the my 3 series years ago, but I was running a track setup with camber plates and R-compound tires (this was my daily ) which had a very similar overall diameter as the stock 18s so no calibration was needed.
