Who said Japanese cars were cheap to maintain? I guess you have to pay to play.

Cool

I never knew DCT fluid was so expensive. I should invest in it.

That's insane. $2k for service and $20k for tranny. Fuck the GTR.

Thumbs up

That being said, I think the GTR would be a fun car to fly down the highway with.

I'm probably one of the few who doesn't think it's super ugly either, and despite the price tag, it's a relative performance bargain (non-markup price of course).

Why replace the DCT fluid? Dont M3's have lifetime fluid?

At least the alignment was reasonable.

About the only thing decently priced was the alignment. Why doesn't Nissan throw in something like a 12k mile service with a $70-$80k car? I've been telling my Dad he should get one of these since I first heard about it being sold in US & Europe, but $1k for tranny fluid would really suck.

I'm willing to bet Nissan is losing money on each GTR sold.

So are these cars still a relative bargain? What's the service cost for a GT-3, Lambo or Ferrari?

That's about as much as Inspection II costs on an E46 M3 if it's out of free maint.

I can only give you examples relating to Ferrari. I know of someone who had to replace a brake rotor on a Challenge Stradale. Per Ferrari's strong recommendation he replaced all 4 rotors (plus pads) at once. The price? $45,000. That is not a typo.

It's ugly. But very fun to drive. Don't think I'll ever get to 20K and have to worry about the service. But, I was aware of the cost of Tranny Oil. Every car I've owned I have had them do the engine oil, Tranny, and diff at 1500 miles. When they told me how much it cost.... No way.

Yep. I know a lot of people who can easily go into the dealership and buy a Murc, GTR, etc. The reason they don't is because the extremely high price of maintenance.

About the DCT tranny's being broken down, Nissan says that less then 1% had failed.....I dunno if it's true or not but if I was one of those in the 1%, I would make alot of noise and let the whole world know about how nissan S$%^&Eks and this and that.

And in my opinion, if I'm ever in the market for a car, I always look at how much it cost with the service charges(Gotto work hard to get the inside scoop but it's worth it). And looking at that, GTR is still a bargain.
I dunno if you guys will agree with my statement but I will always love the GTR. I guess I'm a GTR wh()re

The ZO6 has 90% of the thrills for 40% of the cost of upkeep, sounds good if you discount the roof falling off malarkey.

Yep... that's the reason why I didn't trade my M for a GT-R.

Wait until that guy has to change his rotors.
