noob question

I have a 328 coupe. Headlight washer cover fell off. I'm going to get it replaced under warranty. My dealer said they will replace the entire headlight washer system, including the telescope. However, i have a pbx installed. My question: does the ecu have anything to do with the headlight washer control? My father tells me it does but he doesn't know anything about this car. Neither do i. So if i set the map to 0, will the dealer be able to detect it through the replacement of the headlight washer?

Getting the headlight washer or even headlight replaced should not involve the mechanics touching the ECU. I think you should be okay having it in there. But just to be safe, you can always take it out and reroute the wires back to the stock ECU setting.
