Question regarding rear window weatherstripping
The weatherstripping above the front windshield and around the sides and top of the rear windshield was looking pretty rough on my car. So, recently I replaced both of them. I found a great "how to" video for the front windshield piece, but I didn't find anything for the rear. So, I braved it myself. It really wasn't that bad to do, but here's my question if anyone has replaced this before:
When I took off the old weatherstripping arond the rear window, in a few places it appeared to be held on by some type of adhesive. (But, not nearly as much adhesive as the front weatherstripping.) The replacement part I purchased (OEM BMW part) didn't have any adhesive on it (as opposed to the front weatherstripping part, which comes with adhesive). I just snapped it around the rear windshield and it seems to fit pretty snugly. Does anyone know if I'm supposed to use adhesive as well (and, if so, what kind)? I checked my Bentley manual, but couldn't find anything on it. |

I would use this:
http://3mcollision.com/3m-black-supe...3602-4250.html Make sure you get black - it comes in Yellow as well but the yellow really shows up if you do slightly too much and it squeezes out a bit. |
