I have am 08 328i with sport package. What are some options for suspension lowering?

I heard good things about h&r sport springs, only looking for slight drop. Would I need to replace my shocks/struts to or just the springs?

what else should I look to replace or upgrade. I have 70k and am on OEM parts.

My 2006 330i sport has 107k miles and the original struts are fine. Not sure what BMW or Mike Miller recommends on replacement. If you lower the car (and want to do the job properly) shorter shocks/struts are needed.

I only want to lower about another inch from the sport height. OEM struts can't handle that? Guess I will have to checkout struts too.

Your stock struts will be fine with H&R sport springs. The difference between a sport strut and a heavy duty or stock strut is the stiffness and that a sport strut has a shorter piston so that it doesn't damage the strut if or when it bottoms out since it is more likely to bottom out with shorter springs.

Actually used to have a Mitsubishi eclipse with H&R sport springs and didnt change my structs (even though I should have)

You are saying the H&R springs don't make THAT much of a difference and the "travel" in the OEM BMW sport structs is good enough for the lowered the H&R springs provide?

What other good options are out there? Not looking to slam my car OR spend 1000's on a coilover system, etc. Just a mild drop for a reasonable price.

The stock sport suspension sits about a half inch lower than the non sport suspension. The H&R Springs for your vehicle will drop the front 1.3" and rear 1.2" from the non sport suspension which is typically the lowest you would want to go without moving to coilovers. These will not have a problem with your stock wheels/tires or something close to it from an aftermarket set up.

In my opinion the H&R springs are the best solution, they are an excellent quality product for the price. Your stock struts should be fine, but may have a problem if they bottom out too many times and the piston damages the base plate of the shock and they start leaking.

Springs control height and travel, struts control siffness and response.
