Can someone verify order of pins. I just did this and now I have a awd error. Cruise control won't work either. I wonder if with my pins are in wrong order or my stalk is messed up....

got my custom made steering wheel but i am a little bit disappointed...
seller said the M sports trim and paddles will fit but it didn t, the steering is not as thick as the M sports one nor is it soft. the worst part was after i test it, whole section in the left was just cold, not heating up. steering will be returned before the end if the year...........just not my luck paid $459.....not a cheap price! an got it in a plastic bag..... |

If not heating up, the heater element unit in the bottom of steering is the issue.
For mine, left and right are not as warm as top and bottom. Not sure how yours is missing out just the left |

from what i understood, the issue with heating more or less intense has to do with the thickness of the leather. is you steering having different leather on different sections ? (like mine has normal and perforated)
i believe they broke the mat while putting the leather on the steering |

If anyone is looking, I have a full set of heated steering wheel with buttons (non-sport), airbag (post-recall), trim with the heat button, and all the wiring and connectors needed to plug in under the cigarette lighter jack (including that connector).
80 plus shipping? *shrug* make an offer

Hi guys, hope someone is still reading this thread
Found this thread looking for the heated wheel retrofit and have allready found all the parts. I'm about to start on the cable loom and have a question. What type of wire do you use? The opening post states 18 and 20 gauge (AWG) but the diagram shows 0,75 and 0,35. That's 18 and 22 if i'm not mistaken (I'm a metric guy …). Any info is much appreciated |

I used 18 for the power and used bmw oe cable for the control wires, because when I cut the control buttons out of the donor car, I kept enough cable that I didn't need to use new wire.
either 20 or 22 should be okay... could probably even use 26 and it would still work, since the wire is carrying only a few milliamps and is only a couple of inches long.

Still willing to make a cable for this conversion? and did the new steering wheel you have, have paddles? if so, did you make cables for that or can there be premade ones bought from BMW?

Your car does have it, so you must buy it of cars that do. I got mine of X1, you can look at other cars with similar steering wheels. |

i'll do that tonight. /C It will go in to F5 fuse I need a couple of them for the ACC and LDM too. Another Q, i was thinking of route the PT bus from the LDM to the FRM as it's close but when i looked at the colors of the bus cables at the FRM they did not match in colors(not blue/red, red)i think they were either yellow and light blue or something, they are going in on #43 and #44.
